The Sparks Police has a long history of providing full service policing to the Sparks community. The men and women of the Sparks Police are committed to service and recognize the level of trust placed in them by the citizens we serve.
The Sparks Police is comprised of 166 full time employees that include 109 sworn and 57 civilian personnel. In addition, the Sparks Police has numerous citizen volunteers that assist with the daily activities within all areas of the Department.
The Sparks Police is committed to the Community Oriented Policing philosophy and has adopted “Comstat” as a crime solving model. Through tactical analysis, intelligence based policing and community engagement, we believe in aggressively identifying those in our community who are engaged in criminal activity. By quickly identifying crime trends, we believe we can prevent future victims of crime and reduce the effects of criminal activity in our community. A crime prevented is better than a crime solved.
The Sparks Police participates in a number of regional partnerships and maintains professional working relationships with our local Federal law enforcement agencies. These partnerships allow the Sparks Police to maximize our efficiency while maintaining our individuality as an agency to meet our community’s unique needs.
The Sparks Police is committed to being a leader in building a strong safe community and achieving the City’s Vision of being the “City of choice for residents, businesses and visitors.”
